NEW CLASS - acrobatic arts

We're delighted to bring Acrobatic Arts to Ribble Valley Dance. This exciting syllabus is great for developing strength and flexibiliy, whilst giving dancers the skills to perform acrobatic tricks within their performances.

The programme is carefully planned, with progressions to ensure that each student is able to work towards their own goals. Available to students taking Ballet classes with us, this course will run on Saturday afternoons for children in Year 1 and above.

In May 2017, 200 students from Ribble Valley Dance took to the stage to entertain audiences in our production of Scheherazade - based upon the Tales of the Arabian Nights.

With over 20 dance routines, our talented cast of principals and dancers worked as a great team, performing to sellout audiences on three nights.

The production helped raise £1000 for the charity Young Minds, which offers support to young people experiencing mental health issues.

Parents and students can view a selection of photos from the production on our Facebook students' group.

Performance opportunities are already being planned for the 2017/18 season, with our students encouraged to participate in these events. Further details will be posted at the studio in the near future!

Ribble Valley Dance is based in the centre of Clitheroe, offering theatre dance training in a professional and friendly environment.

What is so special about dancing? Well, those of you who have ever done it will know:

• It can enrich your life beyond your wildest dreams!

• It is an excellent way to improve your strength, coordination, stamina and flexibility.

• It is cardiovascular exercise: dance regularly and it will help keep your heart fit and keep you trim.

• Dance is an expression of your personality and a way of exploring who you are.

• It is an excellent introduction into many other creative activities, such as drama and music.

• You will meet new people and make new friends.

• You will work closely with your teacher and other students; this will help develop communication and leadership skills.

• It is a social skill that stays with you for life.

• Most important of all, it is great fun!
