Dance Classes

Step into a Dance Class

We’re delighted to welcome beginners from 2½ years old into our Pre-School classes. Young dancers start with Ballet, before progressing to Tap, Contemporary Modern Jazz and Theatrecraft, creating a fun, nurturing and fully rounded dance education.

For older dancers, whether you’re completely new or returning to dance after a break, we’d love to chat with you and help find the class that’s the perfect fit.

We’re also proud of our thriving adult dance community, offering classes for complete beginners as well as those with more experience – it’s never too late to dance.

FAQ

How do I enrol my child?

Contact us to discuss which class would be best suited to your child, & for current availability. We recommend trying a class out to make sure it’s the right level & to ensure your child will settle in.

What classes do you do for Adults?

Dance is a great way to keep fit & develop new skills.  We offer Ballet, Tap & Jazz Dance classes at varying levels, plus Zumba Gold, Pilates & Dance Fitness.  Group classes take place every week & Private lessons can be arranged.

Will there be an opportunity to take exams?

We follow the IDTA syllabus, with children entered for exams at regular intervals when teachers feel they are ready.  Progression does not follow academic school years, so we’re able to ensure each child progresses at their individual pace.  Exams are available to Adults too.

How often are classes held?

Classes are held each week during school term time.  You can see our current dates here

What age can my child start?

Our Pre School Ballet classes take children from age 2 ½ – though each child develops at their own pace, and beginners can start at any age.  We recommend waiting until age 4 or 5 to start Tap lessons, & age 6 or 7 to start Contemporary Modern Jazz.  If your child is older, they are still very welcome to join us to start their dance journey – just get in touch to find out which classes are available.

Is there a uniform?

Classes for under-18’s have a uniform – items are available to buy via our online shop (we also host a second hand page on Facebook).  We recommend waiting a week or two to make sure your child will settle in before buying any uniform.

Do you do Shows?

We produce shows every two years – in December 2025 we performed ‘Once Upon a Decmeber’ for senior dancers and our junior show ‘Peter Pan’ will take place in June 2026.
